RISK AND LIABILITY
Our programs involve time spent in the wilderness and are include an element of risk; participants should carry their own health and accident insurance, and must fill out a medical history form and sign a liability release form. Rites of Passage cannot assume responsibility for the behavior of other participants on our programs. People under age 18 may participate with parental permission. Those who take prescription medications, or have other health concerns, should check with their physicians before registering.
Rites of Passage carries liability insurance and obtains permits with land managers on Bureau of Land Management, National Forest Service, and National Park lands. One or more staff are certified Wilderness First Responders for all back country programs.
TUITION, PAYMENT OPTIONS, REFUNDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Rites of Passage accepts major credit cards via PayPal for payment. Most Wilderness Quest programs have two low-fee slots, for which you must apply in advance. There are also some scholarship funds available for those who cannot afford the full tuition; if interested, inquire with staff. We require a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit to secure a place in any program, with the balance due thirty days before the program begins. Our programs have varying deposit requirements; see program listings for details. We will refund tuition balance only up to the thirty day period; however we will refund the full tuition if Rites of Passage needs to cancel a program. These policies reflect the small, intimate character of our programs and encourage people to think about the commitment involved in attending.
