Living the Quest

April 15, 2027 - April 18, 2027

Living the Quest

Living the Quest (formerly Renewal Workshop for Quest Graduates) was created for graduates of a Rites of Passage Wilderness Quest to offer ongoing incorporation support and provide a space for participants to renew the vision, clarity, and gifts received on their Quest.

Through deep connection to nature and intimate storytelling, it offers time to return to that inner knowing, deepen your relationship with Self, Spirit, Earth, and Community, and listen for what is calling you now.

The program will be held in Shoshone, California, at a small, rustic center near wild and beautiful desert landscapes. Each day, we will spend time in a different wild place in nature, with opportunities for solitude and reflection at each location. The teachings of the Four Directions, along with council, self-generated ceremony, and group ritual, will support the embodiment of change and the deeper incorporation of your experience as you move forward and return anew to your life.

Renewal is a wellspring flowing from several sources:

          • Contact with wild places is inherently healing and soul-nourishing.  Wandering in nature helps us to drop into a deeper level of listening to the world and to our own inner voice.  Memories of the quest will return, along with a sense of where the sacred dream is guiding us now.
          • A community of questers can create invaluable support for the journey post-quest.
          • Telling our stories–of meeting wild nature, of our quests, of the paths we have travelled, of the challenges we face–and then receiving loving feedback and support–is transformative.  Our stories call us to risk being fully present and alive at this time in our lives.

Participant Feedback

One of the most healing and insightful experiences of my life.  I came prepared to “work” and my fellow questers, Mike, and Susan created a beautiful container to do the work in. If you have quested, this renewal program is a must.

–Leslie A., executive coach

An excellent opportunity to gather with people who have the shared experience of a Rites of Passage quest and continue the work, revisit the rituals, and practice deep sharing and deep listening. A rejuvenating experience with a wonderful community.

–Sarah B., horticulturist

The Councils were powerful, engaging, and at times quite magical…not just as an opportunity to share but to hear others stories and have an opportunity to provide feedback, questions and/or support.  Overall, the event was an A+ for me. Thank you for your loving care and leadership. I am grateful to you, and to all of the other participants.

–Jay H., grandfather

Don’t know what to say…I was in a place where I could be vulnerable, be wild like the land, be tender like the silence of the desert, be myself. Be myself which wouldn’t happen without this beautiful circle, beautiful community.

–Bruce F., poet

I got much more than I expected. I feel so supported and empowered, and while I know this will be tested, I now feel like I have what I need to navigate it all. Susan and Tom are incredible leaders. Outstanding, soulful, heartful.

–Heather T.

My 2026 experience catapulted my original 2013 quest to a new dimension. I loved the way that the 4 days were designed and unfolded. Susan and Tom guided each of us to our individual as well as collective epiphanies.

–LaBet P.

Registration

To register for this workshop, you need to have completed a Rites of Passage Wilderness Quest program with a 3 day solo.

To register, click on the “Register” button, complete the registration form, then click on “Submit.”

We’ll send you a link to pay the $350 non-refundable deposit for the Living the Quest program.  See our Policies section for more information on payments and refunds.

Schedule

The group will begin at 11 am on Thursday, April 15, 2027 at our meeting place in Shoshone, CA. We’ll work into the late afternoon/early evening each day of the workshop.

You can sleep indoors on bunk beds, or bring a tent to pitch behind the center, under desert skies. Either way, you’ll need to bring a sleeping bag and outdoor gear for walking during the day. Rites of Passage will provide food throughout the program.

Because many participants travel from a distance, you are welcome to arrive a day early, on Wednesday, April 14, and spend the night on site. This can be a convenient way to begin your journey without the added expense of a night’s lodging elsewhere. Please plan to bring your own food and make your own arrangements for activities until the program begins at 11 am Thursday; Rites of Passage will not provide meals or programming before the workshop begins.

The program will end at 12 pm on Sunday, April 18, 2027.

More information, including directions to our meeting site, will be sent upon registration.
