Munro Sickafoose is a husband, father, wilderness quest guide, and ordained minister. He has been deeply involved with indigenous earth–based ceremonies for many years, and has been leading groups and individuals in the wild since 1996.  He trained as a quest guide at the School of Lost Borders in 2000 and has trained at the Ojai Foundation to be a facilitator in the Way of Council, Munro served as the Netkeeper for the Wilderness Guides Council from 2008-2012.

His interest in men’s work began in the early 1990’s with the growing understanding that along with many other men, he had not been initiated into male adulthood in a healthy way – if at all!  He notes, “The need for such initiation was great then, and it’s even greater now. Our lives are filled with passages and navigating them in our chaotic modern world is not easy. The communities that once supported these rites of passage are lost to many of us. But those who came before us left us ways and teachings for those who care to seek them out.”  Munro sees his work in the world as one of carrying these things and passing them on to next generation.
